Woodsy Photo Shoot Amador County

I enjoy the outdoors and photographing couples in woods. This is basically my backyard. Even though I travel often for weddings and other photo shoots, most of my couples drive here to Amador County for their photo session. There’s so much to photograph here in this county from Jackson, California up to the Kirkwood Hideout. Many couples are curious what my area is like before arriving, and even in the drought, this place looks good.

This was Scott and Mariah’s photo shoot, and they did well! Contrary to what many may believe, most of my couples are actually quite nervous at first, asking for advice on what to wear, what they should do during the shoot, where to put their hands, and are a little scared the photos may not turn out because they feel they are not “photogenic” as what they see on wedding blogs and magazines.  However, with a little direction, many of these same couples will appear here on my website or blog, not perfect, but enjoying themselves, relaxed, natural, and looking great!

I’m enthusiastic to share another one of my couples with you all.  Congratulations to Scott and Mariah on their upcoming wedding!

Auburn Wedding Photographer, The Ridge Golf Club, Matthias and Jennifer

My actual last wedding of the year was a few days before Christmas in Auburn, California, and it was cold and raining. I received a phone call in less than a month before Matthias and Jennifer’s wedding to capture their special day. I try and not book much in December to spend more time with family, but since it was a shorter wedding and they were really nice people, I jumped on the opportunity.  We spent sometime downtown Auburn at the old historic Methodist church before and during the ceremony.  After that, we photographed the bride + groom photos, and they really wanted a photo with this important airplane near the reception venue, which was the Ridge Golf Club.  We only had a few minutes for a photo because of time, and it was still cold (Jennifer was wrapped in warm blanket to keep warm).  Once we finished the photo, it started pouring rain, a sign that we were done  Then we enjoyed a lovely reception with warm hearts and most definitely a warm venue at the Ridge. Enjoy a few images from their wedding day!historic church downtown wedding auburn, ca.auburn wedding photography downtownwedding photography bride and groom auburn californiagrass valley wedding photographerGrass valley wedding photography picturesdowntown auburn weddings venue location rusticThe Ridge golf club wedding photographer airplane pictureauburn wedding photographer at ridge golf club events center
