TAFT POINT YOSEMITE WEDDING

Taft Point Yosemite is probably one of the top wedding and elopement location requests when couples inquire to book. Many of my couples aren’t just looking for good wedding photography, but epic ones that include adventure and breathtaking landscapes. And while there are a bazillion scenic spots to choose from (here’s my Top 12 Yosemite wedding locations), Taft Point gives you that steep cliff angle over the valley. You can stand 10 feet away and still get your cliff image while remaining safe (a note to other adventure wedding photographers and adventure couples).

Sheridan and Jake came from the U.K. and wanted to elope in Yosemite. They came with a few family members and had their first look in Yosemite Valley. Upon meeting them, I knew it would be an entertaining day. Both were great conversationalists, and Sheridan is just a crack up. Jake really wanted a massive granite rock photo which captured in Yosemite Valley. Lastly, they wanted a magical sunset experience at Taft Point. We captured that too.

We photographed them in the valley of Yosemite and then drove up Glacier Point Road to hike down for their Taft Point ceremony. Come to find out, there were three other wedding couples at Taft Point. However, since we had the permit, we had priority for the ceremony location. If you are getting married or you’re eloping in the park, you will need a permit.
