Kualoa Ranch Wedding
Tom and Sierra’s Kualoa Ranch wedding was romantic and epic, a once in a lifetime experience for them. Of course, I enjoyed it too. As a photographer capturing weddings and adventure elopements in Hawaii, it’s breathtaking to experience the Kualoa valley. Yes, there are many venues in Oahu that are beautiful, but I believe they chose one of the best to tie the knot. Kualoa boasts of over 4,000 acres of lush tropical valleys, majestic mountains, and pristine beaches. The ranch has been used as a filming location for many Hollywood movies, such as Godzilla and Jurassic Park, and is a popular tourist destination. Having your wedding here is a dream come true for many couples.
Starting at the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, the ladies had their makeup and hair done. The room had a vibrant ocean view up high. Tom got ready at the cottage at Moli’i Gardens, where most of the time would be spent.
Jumanji Valley, Kualoah Valley
From there, we all met at the famous Jumanji property for our couple to have their first look. We were led on a dirt road to the valley by Rocky, who was great guide. When we arrived, the scenery was all wow factor. And when Tom and Sierra arrived and saw each other for the first time, it was like a movie. The best expressions, the best scenery, and the best weather. (By the way, it had been raining for weeks prior, even the day before when my videographer and I drove to the location to check in and communicate. Their wedding day was the first day it had stopped in a while.).
Secret Island Beach and Moli’i Gardens
After we photographed them in the Kualoa Valley, guests started to arrive at the Moli’i gardens ready for a boat shuttle across to Secret Island beach. This is where they would get married. You can see the iconic Mokoli’i Island behind them as they exchange vows. If you have your wedding at the Paliku Gardens, you get another view of Mokoli’i, a distinguished land site.
At the completion of the beach ceremony and family photos, we all headed back to the shuttle for the evening reception at Moli’i gardens. Dinner was served, touching speeches were shared, choreographed dancing by the bride and groom were cheered on, the cake was cut and eaten, and a party to wrap up the evening made it a stellar wedding.
Congratulations to Tom and Sierra, and all their families. Thank you to all the vendors who made the day go so well.
