An Unforgettable Engagement Photography Session with 49ers QB Brock Purdy and Jenna Brandt

Half Moon Bay Engagement PhotosIn a picturesque engagement session at Half Moon Bay, California, we had the privilege of spending time with and photographing the glowing love between San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Brock Purdy and his fiancee Jenna Brandt. And let me share with you, they are a good couple. When I met up with them recently, Brock was trying to park in a limited parking area, while Jenna got out and gave me a warm hug; such a caring personality. Brock came up to me and gave me a good welcoming handshake. They warmly greeted my daughter Janae who was assisting me. Throughout the session, he would say phrases like, “yes, sir” and was ready to do whatever it took for good photos, even get in the water, which they did.
Prior to the photo shoot, Jenna had asked me for ideas on locations and I offered quite a few, but when I mentioned Half Moon Bay, she lit up, and told me how much they loved the area. So Half Moon Bay, California is where it was decided.
We drove over to a stunning Half Moon Bay beach, which featured the iconic California coastline, nestled along some rugged cliffs. Their engagement session was relaxed, simple, real, and super fun. As you can see in the images, their love for each other is radiant. Their chemistry reflects off each other, and their connection is genuine.
I asked how they met, since I was curious. In short, they met early in college, but Jenna went away to another college her last few years. Brock later contacted her and they started dating. Jenna and Brock announced their engagement on July 2, 2023 in Saint Cloud, Florida.
Brock and Jenna value family and faith
A few things I like about this couple. They value family. They are deeply connected to family. Jenna says in her intro video to Iowa State that “Family time is big to me.” Brock is also close to his family. I remember watching the football game at Levi Stadium where Brock started his first game against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After that win, he went up to his family in the stands, gave them hugs. high fives, and his proud father was wiping his tears. I may have gotten a little teary-eyed watching that moment on replay. Everyone watching noticed it as well. Brock and Jenna hugged, but they were not yet engaged. I automatically had respect for this guy quickly. Yes, Brock is no doubt talented, and I remember the 49er fans in that game shouting loudly “Purdy, Purdy, Purdy” in Levi Stadium, but taking time to go over and give his family and Jenna some love was inspiring.
Additionally, I value their faith in God. They both love Jesus and it shows. Their conviction is strong. There was some guy walking by who noticed Brock with a second glance, and walked right up to him and asked for a selfie together. Brock was kind and genuine to the man. The man simply said, “you are a great athlete, but more than that, you are a good person at the core.” I told Brock that’s what many who watch your games like about you. I asked Brock if he wanted to wear glasses or something to conceal himself, and he said, no it’s all good.

For the last part of our engagement couples session, I asked my daughter to grab the football from my car so they could verse off against each other. Many of you may not know, but Jenna is also competitive. She played Volleyball in college, traveling to even South America for international competition. Tackling Brock with the football was part of the plan, but we made sure not to injure his arm. After all, I’m a huge 49ers fan since Joe Montana; I had to ask him a few times if it was okay for him to execute some ideas.
They were so good together and playful. They tackled each other and were having fun. It was a perfect moment with a perfect sunset to close the evening. I’m honored to be a part of their journey and capture their love together. Congratulations and blessings to you Brock and Jenna, and to your families.
