Grace and Michael’s intimate DIY wedding at Evergreen lodge around Yosemite national park was truly one of a kind. Everything about it was special. Many of you know I love woodsy, nature, mountains, rustic, trees, and simplicity. Outside weddings in the mountains are my flavor. On top of that, Michael and Grace decided not to follow most wedding traditions or trends, and do it different. During the ceremony, Michael would hold Grace’s hand as they walked in together along with their dog from out of the woods. Then they would join a small circle of 20-30 close family and friends. The reception was in the front dining room of the John Muir house (with a view of the wilderness). They wanted some cinematic photographs of them in the woods, which I love.
Michael and Grace are from Los Angeles, and are members of The Actor’s Studio. They both filmed a movie in Yosemite recently, which Grace wrote, produced and edited, “I am that girl”. Grace has played on TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Body of Proof, and will be in the new FOX series called, Enlisted, which will air this Spring. Michael is now transitioning to developing his own company. Also, present was Pedro Pascal, the Red Viper from Game of Thrones. A big shout out to Tara Stetz, the wedding Coordinator of Evergreen Lodge for making it come together, despite the rain, the government shutdown, and one of California’s largest wildfire, the rim fire, which burned over 157,000 acres of beautiful wildlife. Despite some of the threats, the wedding was more than beautiful. Michael and Grace even made the charred forest look good.
Since Grace is a D.I.Y. kind of person, most items was designed by her. Her mother Minja designed the cake, and friend Nicki Petrou decorated it. Thank you Michael and Grace for your kindness and allowing us to capture your special day. Congratulations once again.
