I returned from Maui, Hawaii recently and captured some adventure couples while there. No it wasn’t for a wedding or an adventure elopement. The couples I photographed weren’t engaged or getting married. I literally was exploring some of the Island’s adventurous locations, wedding venues, and just asked strangers if I could photograph them. This couple here is Chris and Laura. They were holding each other in a blanket watching the sunrise when I was inspired to photograph them. I simply asked if I could get a few photos, to which they agreed. Being that I was with a group, my time was limited. So, I literally only had a few minutes with them and then sprinted down a trail to catch my bus. I was the last one on the bus, but…it was so worth it. Below are some of their images from that day.

Our family loves Hawaii. I have been traveling to Hawaii recently, Maui, Kauai, and Oahu, for weddings, elopements, and adventure sessions. I take my family when I can, and it’s a great place for vacations while I’m working or exploring. My wife and I actually had our honeymoon in Maui. So, we absolutely love it there. Here’s the first adventurous Kauai wedding I photographed there at the Na ana kai botanical gardens. Actually looking back, it was more of a Hawaii elopement.

For the first time, we stayed at the Grand Wailea Resort, which we loved for our kids to swim around in their many pools, wow, their water-slides, access to the beach, and much more. We stayed at another hotel for most of the week, but we wanted to splurge and try the Grand Wailea for a few days. They also have weddings there, and hopefully I book one at that venue.

In Oahu, the Kualoa Ranch is pretty read and is where they filmed quite a few movies, like Jurassic world and Lost. There are many beautiful locations there at Kualoa.
