Point Cabrillo Lighthouse

Out of the Mendocino wedding venues in the area, Heather and Bill chose the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse for their destination wedding. They love lighthouses and specifically this beautiful one located near Fort Bragg, California where they share history together. They invited me to capture their coastal wedding together with friends and family. I arrived early and saw that fog was covering the area, including the light house museum, which I hoped would stay. The waves were crashing against the shore.

For the Point Cabrillo Light House, you cannot drive down to it. So guests must park in the upper parking lot and walk down the trail that leads to ceremony location. Heather and Bill arrived and I was ready to rock and roll. The ceremony started and it was go time. They even brought their beloved dogs. Even though the fog became more dense, it made the images that much better and unique.

The Reception and Coastal Sunset Photos

After the ceremony and family photos concluded, we drove over to the reception location in Fort Bragg, called The North Coast Brewing Company. Heather and Bill were excited to have everyone gather at one of their favorite brewing restaurants for great beer and food. After a bite and speeches, we returned back to the Point Cabrillo lighthouse for sunset photos and entrance into the museum’s top floor of the lighthouse. The fog departed, the sun shined, and the lighthouse was in its glory for our photo time together.

Heather and Bill were very kind and hospitable people from out of state. I was blessed to document their special day together. Congratulations to them and their families. Here are some wedding photos from their day on the California coast.

KAUAI WEDDING CEREMONY

I photographed April and Shaung in Kauai for their adventurous elopement. They booked my one day adventure on the tropical Island in hopes of photographing them underneath the star filled sky of the milky way galaxy, like this Kauai wedding I photographed. We captured that image and more.

Their day bega with a sunrise ceremony on the beach. We had a permit for their photos. After the ceremony, we ventured around the beach for images looking for the best light and locations. From there, we drove off to the Waimea canyon to hike and capture images in various locations. I found a new gold mine location where I personally explored a day earlier with no crowds present. Guiding my eloping couple there for adventurous image was unique, and it would have been great during sunset or sunrise as well. Personally hiking and exploring new trails for my couples is my passion.

After adventuring in Waimea canyon state park, we returned to the beach for sunset photos. April wanted to change into her red dress for sunset, which we captured below. At the end of the evening, we captured them under the starry lit sky. Congratulations to April and Shaung.
