Destination Wedding Photography

Ok, here are some of the images from Justin and Sadie’s wedding in South Dakota. I wanted to blog so much more because there were so many interesting shots with the details and all, getting ready, preparation, the wedding dress, the shoes, other funny shots, dancing, relatives, and more, but I’m only able to blog so much, plus there were many great shots of this couple I had to show off.

I flew into Sioux Falls, South Dakota last weekend, and drove up in a jet black Ford Fusion car rental to Brookings. Like I typically do, I flew in early to scope out locations for some great backdrops, but most of them were out of the way or probably illegal to sneak into without permission. We went downtown Brookings, SD., and chose different old buildings, besides the church where they married to photograph. The church was beautiful. Justin and Sadie are a fun and romantic couple, and they both attend South Datota State University. They decided at their wedding to see each other before the ceremony, and have the first look, so they could spend more time together during their wedding day. Sadie and Justin, along with the wedding party, trotted over to the Days Inn Hotel from the Church ceremony in a horse cottage, and a cool cowboy with his little dog to lead the way. It was an interesting site to see two horses pulling a wedding party down the main highway, while other cars just drove on the side, no horns honking, people driving by as if normal life (something you wouldn’t see here in California). Also, another interesting site, was when I was driving, a quad came up from behind me, and then went into the right lane, riding near the same speed as if he was another legal vehicle on the road. It happens all the time here. Oh yes, you’re not required to wear a helmet in South Dakota. Anyway, great wedding! Here are just a few of the images…

Justin and Sadie are married! I’m here in South Dakota the day after Justin and Sadie’s wedding here in Brookings, getting ready to travel and photograph some landscape features. I wanted to drop off a few images before I left today. Both Justin and Sadie are playful and creative couple both attending South Dakota State University. They married at the Brookings Wesleyan Church, and then trotted over to ceremony site on a horse carriage with the rest of the wedding party. Be looking this week, as I will blog the full preview images by Thursday.
