High School senior portraits and weddings are what I love photographing the most.  Here are a few images from Hailey’s senior session from Bret Harte high school in Calaveras County.  Something a little different and fresh.  If you didn’t see, Rangerfinder magazine (a photographer’s magazine)  featured my high school senior portrait work in last month’s issue, and highlighted the American high school senior shoot I did last year in the river.  Check out the shoot here (American High School Session).  You can read the article here: Rangefinder Magazine feature.

Charleton Churchill Photography published in Rangefinder Magazine

So, if you haven’t heard the news, Rangefinder magazine published my work this month in their August 2013 “Back to School” issue.  For those of you who don’t know, Rangefinder magazine is a photographer’s magazine, which is like a mecca magazine for photographers. I have seen many great photographers interviewed and featured in their work since I first subscribed early on as a photographer.  And to be featured in their publication is quite a privilege.

When I received a random phone call from a Libby from New York, stating she was from Rangefinder magazine and wanted to feature my work, my gut kind of twisted.  I had photographed a wedding in Sacramento on the Saturday before the phone call, and one of the bridesmaid for that wedding whom I met was the senior editor for the magazine, Lindsay Comstock.  That wedding was a Saturday.  Monday is when I received the phone call, so I thought Lindsay had talked to someone. Come to find out, Lindsay hadn’t even returned to NY yet.  Libby hadn’t talked to Lindsay and she had found my work online randomly.  Regardless of how weird that was, I was honored, so thank you Rangefinder.
