Dallas, Texas! What a beautiful place to have been recently. I flew into Texas to photograph David and Dorothy’s engagement session downtown near the new Dallas Convention Center, Dallas Museum of Art, as well as Fort Worth. People are so kind there.  I can tell stories about hospitality, like the hotel front desk manager who called me a few hours later in my room, asking if everything was good? I was like,…uhm, yes, thank you! Or the kind gentleman who offered to help with my luggage off the plane. Or how they served me BBQ at Rudy’s Restaurant.

David and Dorothy rocked the engagement session. They caught me off guard when they told me they were a little conservative in their dealings with people, and I was thinking they would be shy around the camera, or need help with posing. However, they are just the opposite, and blew me away with their natural skills. They are both in love, hugging and kissing, and all touchy-feel-y stuff. I’m glad to be shooting their wedding event next year!

One of my last adventure’s in capturing this couple in Texas was going down to the Fort Worth Stockyards, where there are huge longhorns, and real cowboy’s walking the streets. I met some cowboys on the sidewalk listening to the street guitar player, and decided to turn around and my pull my video camera out to video-tape them, their accents, and their thoughts on Texas. We had permission to photograph inside M.L.Leddy’s Texas shop, where they had $2,000-$3,000 boots sitting everywhere. One of the kind employees asked me to photograph some unique boots that were worth $10,000. The boots are shown below. What an amazing boot shop with great people who work there!  Enjoy the Texas slideshow and see y’all later.

Oh yes, this guy is the real deal, a real cowboy. My Uncle actually travels often to Texas and knows and has seen this guy for sometime now. My uncle said he is the real cowboy who knows boots!

  • Lise Wick - The way you used the architectural lines and of course the color are both awesome!November 29, 2010 – 11:02 pmReplyCancel

  • Dorothy Anne and David - Charleton! They are stunning! We LOVE them as our engagement photos, but they stand all by themselves from an artistic point of view as well. You have been blessed with some mad skills, my friend, and we are so grateful you chose to use and perfect them. We are incredibly excited for you to shoot our wedding! Thank you again for coming out to the Lone Star State. You are and will always be welcome. Can’t wait to see the whole series.November 30, 2010 – 9:02 amReplyCancel

  • Sage - That photo of just their legs is great. It made this old cowboy buy a dress on ebay just like that one, and I don’t even have a girlfriend! I was in Leddy’s years ago on a cattle buying trip. Those Texans are damn nice folks and they know how to cook meat. Dang beautiful photography!February 6, 2012 – 10:48 pmReplyCancel
