It’s November in the foggy mountains of Yosemite. The rain is falling everywhere, as are the leaves. We arrive at the Tenaya Lodge after four hours of driving from the bay area, from another wedding. We are tired, but now we are happy. Our rooms are rustic cabins, and we are welcomed to a warm and burly fireplace. Wait a minute. I just slapped myself. I’m love job. If there’s any historic venue or location I would rather photograph more than any other, it’s Yosemite,…and anywhere in this National Park.
It just so happens that Nathan and Katie were planning their rustic wedding in Yosemite. Even though they committed their vows to one another last year at the San Francisco City Hall, this was their official wedding day celebration with all their friends and family. Nathan serves in the military, and many of us were unsure whether he would be granted permission to return home for this special day. We all prayed until a few weeks before the event. I was also praying for snow. I had this Narnia wedding vision in my head, but maybe some other day. Long story short, Nathan came home and we all celebrated!
I had a super time at their wedding, and the Kevin Roche Band was electric! Everyone sang loud and proud,…and with Kilts on! Thank you to Katie and Nathan, and also your family for allowing me to share in your wedding day together. Enjoy some of my favorite images from the wedding day.
