I photographed the highly anticipated wedding of Travis and Lynn (Lynn Holmes) this past weekend at Cooper’s Vineyard in the Shenandoah Valley, Plymouth. I’m so glad to have finally captured their wedding day since photographing their engagement session in our local Amador County last year, which you can view them here on the  blog directly.  Lynn, was recently featured on the cover of Real Weddings magazine, so we congratulate her on her success.  Both Travis and Lynn were so fun and easy to photograph.  I will try and blog this wedding more exhaustively later because they gave me more time to photograph and be creative.  Typically, as photographers, we don’t get much time in a wedding to photograph the bride and groom alone.  Yes, we can capture a bride and groom within 15 minutes, but if you really love photographs, and want some creative work on your wedding day, it’s best you plan for more time, and in general, that means like at least an hour. For now, here are a few images from this weekend, which I already posted on Facebook.

Justin and Sally married September 18, 2010 in beautiful Pine Grove, California. Justin and Sally both entered a wedding contest we held in September of 2009. Couples were to submit their romantic story of how they met and proposed, and whoever won, received free wedding photography for their wedding day. My wife Kelly and I chose four of the best romantic stories, and had everyone in whole web world, as well as Facebook, and other means of the social network cast their vote. Justin and Sally won the contest.

I started out in the morning with the boys playing golf at Mace Meadows Golf Course Resort. I felt like a photojournalist interviewing Tiger Woods because Justin was that good (almost as good as Tiger).  After that, I left down to the Skintique Day Spa to photograph the ladies with tons of smelly stuff and excellent hair and make-up artists.  It’s was pretty classy inside.  Sally enjoyed herself preparing with the other ladies, which was clearly evident in her beautiful smile and laughter.  We went up to Pine Grove, on Homestead dr., where the ceremony and reception was held.  The location was this beautiful large home with flowers and lush green grass.  Family and Friends gathered from near and far to support this wedding celebration.  I had a wedding checklist of what I wanted to shoot before I came, but it really was a casual wedding with the feeling of close family.  Both Justin and Sally love each other and it showed.  Lastly, I just think it’s awesome that the name of the DJ for the night was Willie Nelson.

There were other images I wanted to show, and I decided this time to try out a photography blog storyboard or collage blog I designed.  I have tried it before, but this time I figured out how to put together templates for future use, measured for my blog.  Enjoy this fresh new blog style. I may use it every so often!
